Why is mulberry silk better?

Many traditional pillowcases are able to wick some of moisture away from your skin because they are made from cotton, a notoriously breathable fabric. However, mulberry silk is even more breathable than cotton. Silk can wick moisture away twice as fast by almost 50% allowing you to feel cooler with better temperature regulation.

What Is Momme or mm (pronounced like “mummy”)?

Momme is the unit measurement of silk and refers to the density of the silk fiber.  Compared to cotton thread count, higher thread count means higher quality cotton.  The same is true for silk, the higher the momme, the higher the quality. For example: 16 momme silk is a thinner, less dense silk, whereas 22 momme has a higher quality silk with increased durability.

Higher quality silk yields a softer, silkier feel to the skin and hair.  

What does OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified mean?

Milan Silk products are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified meaning our products are not manufactured or produced with any harsh chemicals or toxins giving you more natural silk.

How do I care for my silk product?

You can machine wash your silk using a gentle cycle and a low heat in dryer.  When you iron, make sure you use a low setting on iron for pressing on either side.
